Join us in premiering the full-length Nutcracker Ballet with sets, props, costumes, and more! We are so excited to share this classical ballet story of Clara and her toy Nutcracker as they dance through the land of sweets with our dancers and community! All dancers 6 years and older with all styles of experience welcome to audition!

To audition dancers must be 6+ and enrolled in a dance class of any style. Dancers from any studio in the area are welcome to audition and you do not have to be enrolled at Lake Michigan Dance Academy. Pointe dancers must be taking a weekly pointe class. The audition will include ballet, some acro skills, and acting. If your dancer is interested in auditioning for pointe roles please have them stay for the last segment of the audition.
The purpose of this audition is for casting, and there is a role for every dancer who would like to participate! Please know that by auditioning you are committing to performing in the Nutcracker and the required availability. See the Nutcracker 2024 page for Audition dates and info! |

Come see Lake Michigan Dance Academy’s 2nd annual performance of The Nutcracker! You will not want to miss the iconic story of Clara and her Nutcracker as she dreams of the land of sweets. This 90 minute Nutcracker will be an event for your whole family this holiday season!
For Our Younger Audience
We invite you and your dancer(s) to our second annual Nutcracker Tea! This event is geared towards our little dancers and is a great chance to get a sneak peak of our Nutcracker Performance. Nutcracker Tea will include a reading of The Nutcracker Story, a 20 minute performance, and a "Land Of The Sweets" themed tea party where all children will receive a coloring booklet, and have a chance to meet the cast and take photos with the performers in their costumes! All children must be accompanied by an adult and all attendees will need a ticket.

Cost
- Audition Fee: $18
- 1 Role Rehearsal Fee: $150 - students that select this option will perform in one part of the show and will have fewer rehearsal hours.
- 2+ Role Rehearsal Fee: $295 - students that select this option will perform in multiple parts of the show, and should anticipate attending more rehearsals
Parent Volunteers
Parent volunteers are vital to Nutcracker running smoothly and cost effectively. There are many different roles that a parent volunteer can take and I ask that you plan to be heavily involved. These roles include: sewing, making props, hanging posters in the community, backstage room parent, lobby sales, ushering, quick changes, prop managing, load in, & load out.
