Take class with one of West Michigan's top Acro instructors - Leah Fiore! Leah Fiore hails from Libertyville, IL where she began dancing when she was three years old. The bulk of her training took place at Talent Forum with many professional dancers from the Chicago dance community as talented teachers. She performed with their youth jazz company, Forum Jazz Dance Theatre, for five years, including in Eddy Ocampo's Gold Shoe Award-Winning performance in the Leo's Dancewear Competition at Jazz Dance World Congress 2011. Upon graduation, Leah went on to study at the the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University where she performed works by Doug Varone, Douglass Bentz, and Alyosn Laury. She graduated with Honors and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, along with a Business Management minor. After college, Leah moved to Buffalo, NY for a few years to train with jazz/modern company LehrerDance and began teaching many different styles, including Jazz, Hip-hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, and Ballet, at various dance studios all around the Buffalo area. She found her way back home to Chicago, where she performed with Inaside Chicago Dance and continued to teach a variety of styles and ages at a few dance studios there, also acting as choreographer for the Dance Connection's Spotlight Dance Company. Leah completed Module 1 of her Acrobatic Arts Certification and is so excited to bring this program to Lake Michigan Dance Academy as the Assistant Director.
"...Alissa teaches using analogies and explanations that the dancers understand well. She is motivating and gives corrections in a positive and encouraging way. My daughter has grown tremendously in her classes. Alissa is loved by dancers and parents alike!"
